Short Hills Man Could Have Saved Credit Suisse From Crisis: WSJ

If Short Hills resident Jason Varnish had not passed away last year, his expertise might have saved the bank from a crisis, a story said.

MILLBURN, NJ — Would things have been different for Credit Suisse — the investment bank that took a major financial hit this year — had Short Hills resident Jason Varnish not tragically passed away last year?

The Wall Street Journal speculated in a longform story this week that Varnish's experience may have saved the bank, had he survived.

"If one man had been alive in late 2020 and early 2021," said a summary of the WSJ story posted on a website Tuesday, "Credit Suisse might be in a different place today. Instead, he was killed by a freak accident while skiing in Colorado."
