South Mountain Sees Overnight Car Break-ins
Eight cars broken into at seven residences in South Mountain overnight, police say.

After a brief lull in, seven residents of the South Mountain neighborhood were victims of vehicle break-ins overnight, according to Millburn Police.Â
Four of the break-ins occurred on Ridgewood Road, two occurred on Haran Circle and one occurred on Locust Avenue.
In one of the Haran Circle cases, two cars were broken into. In all, six of the cars were left unlocked and the owners of two of the cars were unsure whether the cars were locked.

In one of the cases on Ridgewood Road, a Macbook laptop, valued at $1,800, was taken from the front passenger seat of a car left unlocked.
In two of the cases on Ridgewood Road, the reporting officer Steve Nacim discovered two cars that were broken into after responding to another break-in on Ridgewood road and seeing the interior lights on in neighboring cars on the block.

In several cases, the interiors of the cars and the glove boxes were ransacked but nothing was stolen, according to the reports.
