Springfield Stop & Shop Hearing in Millburn Delayed

Monday night's Zoning Board meeting has been cancelled delaying the Stop & Shop hearing to August. 

The Village Supermarkets attorney Stephen Barcan was to start calling witnesses to testify at the meeting. However, the Village Supermarkets recently replaced its counsel, Millburn Zoning Board Officer Eileen Davitt told the Millburn-Short Hills Item. 

The hearing for the proposed foodstore has been rescheduled for Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. 

The Stop & Shop is proposed for the old Saks Fifth Avenue location, 92 Millburn Ave. in Short Hills. Even though that property is located in Springfield, Millburn has jurisdiction on the 20-foot piece of land entering the property, the township engineer, Thomas Watkinson, said.
