Summer Big Read: Born to Run
The Millburn High School English department invites the entire community to pick up Christopher McDougall's book for a summer read.

The Millburn English Department is launching its second Annual Summer Big Read with a book by Christopher McDougall, which answers the question, why do you human runs?
The award-winning journalist McDougall find the answers the questions surrounding running and life, in his book Born to Run, including what running shoes to buy and what should you eat to be cancer free.
McDougall's book will appeal to anyone, the English department said, as he travels to doctor's offices to science labs, from corporate America to the hidden isolated canyons of Mexico, bringing readers on an enlivening narrative.

"Reading is most powerful when shared by different members of a community – people with varied opinions, interests and tastes," English Department Chair Jessica Siegel said. "We encourage everyone to read the same text with us, and we will then provide opportunities to discuss it, share your thoughts, voice opinions and ask questions.”
McDougall will also be visiting the high school on Oct. 24 and planning is underway to organize a charity 5K that evening.
