Learn to Talk With Teens Tuesday
Workshop will explore ways to communicate with teens that will make difference to them.
Do you have a teenager and wonder how to stay connected during the teen years, when children are transitioning to adulthood and don't always make the best decisions, sometimes starting with keeping as much as possible from their parents?
At an upcoming family workshop, you can learn how to continue to influence your children, even when the peer group becomes all important, by staying aware of what's going on in their lives.
Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, MMAC and M-SPEC will host a workshop at the on Tuesday at 10 a.m., titled "Forget About the 'Big Talk' with Your Teen: Having Conversations that Matter a Little at a Time."

The workshop will be facilitated by Beth Sandweiss, a licensed social worker, who will help parents:
- learn to become the kind of parent teens want to talk to
- learn to listen without over- or under-reacting
- learn how to create a "no-blame" household.
She will also discuss parents’ ability to influence their teens by knowing what is happening in their lives.
