The Week Ahead in Millburn and Short Hills
Lots to do this week, so mark your calendar.

It’s that time of year – spring is springing and the days get longer and the weeks get busier, especially if you have children in school.
Here’s a look at just some of the things happening in town this week. If you want to mention other events going on, tell us in comments:
In the schools:

Tuesday –  MHS, Holocaust/Genocide Awareness Day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Millburn High School Library. Two Holocaust survivors and a Rwandan Genocide survivor will be among the speakers.
Tuesday – 5th Grade Field Day will take place at the Millburn High School field, with students from all five elementary schools coming together to get to know each other and compete in field day activities.

Tuesday – Glenwood Art Show – This year’s theme is India, with 1,000 works of art by students from grades K-5 on display. The show takes place all day with an evening showing from 6:30 yo 8 p.m.
Tuesday – 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 2:45 p.m. MHS Music Department presents the final Accelerated Recitals of this year, MHS Auditorium. These are open to the public.
Wednesday – If you missed the Millburn Film Fest, you can catch a screening of the eight winning films at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Millburn Cinema.
Thursday – MHS hosts a Roman Banquet in celebration of ancient Roman culture. Many of the students will be receiving recognition for their achievement on the National Latin Exam at this event to be held during periods 7 & 8 (1 p.m. to 2:30)Â
Government:
Monday – Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting, Town Hall, 7 p.m.
Tuesday – Millburn Township Committee Meeting, Town Hall, 8 p.m.Â
Around Town:
Sunday – Millburn Street Fair, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Millburn Avenue and Spring Street. Arts, crafts, international food, music, dancing, clowns and more.
Sunday – To commemorate Earth Day, the Millburn Green Team hosts the Green Fair in Taylor Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Â
At the Library:
Monday night (tonight) – Scrabble Club meets at 6:45 p.m.
Looking ahead to next week:
The Brooklyn College Alumni Association and the Millburn Public Library are sponsoring a lecture by Kate Rothko, the daughter of famed abstract impressionist artist Mark Rothko, at the Library on April 25 at  p.m. in the auditorium. Those interested in attending the lecture should call the Library and reserve a seat.
