Township of Millburn: Recycling Enforcement Crackdown To Begin Next Week

Millburn's recycling hauler will not accept items put out improperly. Read the rules below.

MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn’s recycling hauler is beginning a crackdown on contamination in the curbside recycling stream next week. If you find that your recycling was not picked up, you will receive a sticker outlining the issue to be corrected before your next scheduled pickup.

Recycling bins will be left at the curb for homes that are found to be bagging recyclables or attempting to recycle items that cannot be processed in single-stream collections.

Remember, the following items are not accepted for curbside recycling:

  • Plastic bags
  • Large, bulky items
  • Hoses, cords, wires or chains
  • Polystyrene (Styrofoam)

Please do not bag your recyclables. Any items left out for recycling should be clean and dry – no food residue or remaining liquid. Polystyrene and e-waste can be recycled at the Public Works Yard.
