The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area through 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 19 . Moderate snowfall is expected, with accumulations projected between 3 and 5 inches by end of day Thursday with total accumulations between 4 and 8 inches by the end of the storm on Friday evening.

Residents are reminded that snow must be cleared from sidewalks within eight (8) hours of daylight after the storm ends. It is a violation of the municipal code to shovel or plow snow into the roadway. Please keep shoveled snow confined to your property behind the curbline!

Cancellations and Closures

Millburn Town Hall will be closed as of 11:00 a.m on Thursday, February 18 due to the storm.

Trash and recycling pick up is continuing as scheduled.

The Millburn Library is closed on Thursday, February 18. All programs will be cancelled or re-scheduled.

The Millburn Municipal Court is cancelling the court scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, due to inclement weather.

Essex County has rescheduled all vaccination appointments from Thursday, February 18 to Sunday, February 21. If you had an appointment scheduled for February 18, please check your e-mail for additional information from the County.

Service Outages

As a reminder, residents should report any storm-related outages directly to their utility providers at the numbers listed below.

Downed trees and wires may be reported via the non-emergency PD line at 973-564-7001. We remind residents to NOT call 9-1-1 for power outages and/or to inquire about service restoration. Reserve 9-1-1 calls for true emergencies only.

JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris. Treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.
