Train Riders Can Now Buy Rail Passes From Smartphones

NJ Transit continues to roll out "MyTix" service around the state.

How many times have you missed your train because you were fumbling for your wallet to purchase a ticket on the platform?

A service introduced to NJ Transit rail customers this week allows riders  to purchase and display their passes from their smartphones.

The mobile ticketing program called MyTix can now be used to purchase tickets for the Morris and Essex, Montclair-Boonton, Main, Bergen County, Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines.

For more information on MyTix, visit njtransit.com and go to “Ticket Options,” then click on “MyTix” from the drop-down menu.

One-way tickets, weekly passes and monthly passes can be purchased using a smartphone and later displayed to train crew members from the phone.
