Visions For Vacancies: What Should Move to Downtown Millburn?

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning — Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

In an occasional column, we'll present a new vacant space and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. 

We're launching this occasional feature again by focusing on the now vacant space at 353 Millburn Ave. Previously occupied by Lynne's, a women's boutique, closed down after moving to downtown from West Orange. 

Last time we ran this piece on 516 Millburn Ave in Short Hills.

Most of those who've commented in this column agreed downtown Millburn doesn't need any more restaurants or nail salons, but a few voted for a bookstore. 

One Patch user asked for a gift/furniture/antiques store while another hoped for a venue for live music. A unique suggestion was 'a good old fashion 5&10 cent store' and another suggested an English pub.

With tons of shopping, restaurants and other eclectic shops in downtown Millburn, now it's up to you to suggest what business should move in down the street.
