What Business Should Open Near Short Hills Train Station?
Visions for Vacancies: Let Patch know what you think should fill the vacant storefront in the strip mall on Chatham Road.

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning — Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.
In an occasional column, we'll present a vacant space and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep.Â
We're launching this occasional feature again by focusing on the a vaccant storefront on Chatham Road near the Short Hills train station. The vaccant storefront sits in the same shopping center as EVO Delicacies, which opened in mid-April.

Last time we ran this piece Patch asked about the 513 Millburn Ave. in Short Hills, which sits vacant space where Sun Glo Spa used to be near.
Most of those who've commented in this column said Millburn doesn't need any more cleaners or nail salons.Â

One Patch user asked for a bookstore,which has been a long standing request in these columns. Others have hoped for a venue for live music or even 'a good old fashioned 5&10 cent store' and another suggested an English pub.Â
