90.3 WMSC-FM Participates in 4th Year of 'College Radio Day'

Montclair State Univesity's underground radio station, was the NJ State Headquarters for College Radio Day.

90.3 WMSC-FM, Montclair State’s Underground Radio station marked its fourth consecutive year participating in College Radio Day which was held on October 3, 2014.

Celebrated worldwide, this event aims to acknowledge the impact college and high school radio has made, build a greater awareness for stations, display its importance to campus & local communities, emerging artists, among others.

The Voice of Montclair State joined over 700 college radio stations worldwide with special 24-hour wall-to-wall coverage featuring exclusive interviews, big giveaways and exciting surprises!

For the first time, WMSC acted as State Headquarters for College Radio Day, working to coordinate coverage statewide and facilitate communication between stations and the national office. WMSC had notable interviews with industry professionals, staff and students, CD and ticket giveaways, fun activities, live performances and will also carry College Radio Day’s inaugural simulcast that promises to be historic.

“College Radio Day for us just gets bigger and better each year,” said WMSC Programming Director Silas Kezengwa. “We’re incredibly proud to not only participate again, but to be selected as State Headquarters this year.”

WMSC-FM’s College Radio Day coverage began live on Friday, October 3 2014 at 12:00 a.m. Coverage lasted for a full 24 hours, concluding at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday October 4.

People can view exclusive images of the day’s events on WMSC’s Instagram @WMSCRadio (instagram.com/wmscradio) and post their on visuals using the hash tag “#WMSCCRD.”
