Another Man Arrested For Selling Drugs Near A School

Police arrest Cyre Floyd, 19, of Newark on Saturday.

Cyre Floyd, 19, of Newark was arrested Saturday for allegedly seeking to distribute Ecstasy near the Charles H. Bullock Elementary School.

It's one of a string of arrests made in recent months involving the sale of drugs near schools. Only two weeks ago, police arrested William Fleming—found with a black bag containing 29 glassine folds of heroin—for selling drugs within 1,000 feet of the Bullock School.

In the most recent incident, Montclair Police arrested Floyd at about 6:22 p.m. after they found him with 22 Ecstasy pills (with a street value of about $440) in his pants pockets. Initially, they had stopped him at 63 Elm Street, near Bullock, as a result of a $377 warrant out of Montclair, said Deputy Chief Todd Conforti.
