Area Doctor "Books It" Again for Montclair Public Library

Orthodontist Ed Gold encourages his patients to consider making a small donation to the library.

Ed Gold, a Montclair orthodontist, is hitting the pavement again to add on to the more than $16,000 he’s raised for the Montclair Public Library.

Gold is running 26.2 miles in the Mohawk-Hudson River Marathon in Albany, New York on Oct. 12 to benefit the library in the hopes that it will pave the way for this generation and future generations to obtain and apply beneficial information to the community.

He hopes that knowledge gathered from library resources can someday be used to heal people. Gold is asking his patients to consider making a small contribution for the library by making a pledge for his run.

“It does not matter how much one gives; every little bit helps in a big way,” Gold said. “I would be so happy if my patients donated 10 cents a mile ($2.60) to the Montclair Public Library. The $2.60 not only helps the library, but equally important, helps children become aware of the importance of supporting worthy causes.”

Donations can be made at Gold’s fundraising site or by sending a check to the Montclair Public Library Foundation, 50 South Fullerton Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042.
