The theater hopes to raise money for the American Diabetes Association.

The  in Upper Montclair is decked out for a good cause.

"Over the years I've learned to work hard to take care of myself and I do watch everything I eat," he said. "If I get a cut I've learned to put a Band-Aid on it because it takes longer for diabetics to heal."

Working in conjunction with the Clearview Cinema chain, Serron said the Bellevue Theater is not only trying to raise awareness of diabetes, but also hoping to provide a fun atmosphere for customers.

Serron said moviegoers will be asked to donate to the American Diabetes Association and also will have a chance to win various raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

Over the next two weeks, Serron said he hopes the theater can raise at least $500 for the associaton.

"The staff did all the decorations and so far we've gotten a really good response," said Serron, who's been manager since March.

This is not the first time Bellevue has raised money for a worthy cause.

Serron said that, earlier this summer, the theater collected more than $2,000 for the Will Rogers Institute.
