Bnai Keshet In Montclair To Offer Public Services: High Holy Days

Bnai Keshet in Montclair will celebrate the High Holy Days with a series of free services open to the public.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Bnai Keshet in Montclair will celebrate the High Holy Days with a series of free services open to the public.

According to a news release from Bnai Keshet, in keeping with its “long-standing tradition,” non-members are welcome at all services at no charge. Although tickets are not required, non-members who wish to attend are asked to make reservations and may do so online at www.bnaikeshet.org.

“Welcoming non-members to join us at High Holy Day services is a hallmark of our collective identity,” said Bnai Keshet co-presidents Laura Gelman and Howard Kerbel. “Through egalitarian and participatory services, we seek to include everyone in the spiritual experience.”

To comfortably accommodate members and their families – as well as non-members who would like to worship - the following High Holy Day services will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 46 Park Street in Montclair, along with separate services for young families:

  • Rosh Hashanah Eve, Sunday, September 9, 8pm
  • First Day of Rosh Hashanah, Monday, September 10, 9am; Young Families, 9:30am; Kol Nidre (Yom Kippur Eve), Wednesday, September 18, 8pm; Yom Kippur, Thursday, September 19, 9:30am; Young Families, 10am.
  • Services for the Second Day of Rosh Hashanah, Tuesday, September 11, will be held at Bnai Keshet at 99 S. Fullerton Ave. in Montclair. Young Family and Junior Congregation services, as well as childcare, will be available.
