Over the summer, Comfort Food Kitchen opened at 54 Fairfield Street, the spot formerly occupied by Piazza Della Sole right next to Watchung Booksellers.
Since then, the business that began with a simple line of old fashioned cookies has been offering lunch, catering, and an online subscription dinner service.

"We have carefully crafted two programs. The first is a demonstration program where students watch as I create delicious meals. These take place Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are not only a great way to learn, but they also make for a fun group night out or date night!," Michaud said.
She said her second suite of classes is more practically centered and runs on Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
"These classes have a more hands-on focus where students actively participate and collectively learn how to cook a specific meal or type of food," she said. "The class ends with a group meal with wine."
Michaud explained that classes range from basics like knife skills to how to make impressive hors d'oeuvres and killer deserts.
