Escape Montclair Announces Byron Kosuge Wine Dinner

Bryan Gregg, Chef and Owner of Escape Montclair and a leader in the New Jersey local food movement, today announced that he will host a five-course farm-to-table dinner with pairings featuring the award-winning wines of famed winery, B. Kosuge Wines, on November 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

In the Escape kitchen, Chef Gregg and his team will craft a locavore dining experience that best matches the flavor profiles of B. Kosuge Wines. The wines for the dinner were hand-selected by Amanti Vino proprietor, Sharon Sevrens.

“Having Byron Kosuge at Escape for this dinner is a privilege and I am excited to have the opportunity to create a meal to pair with his award-winning wines,” says Chef Gregg. “Any wine aficionado should pick up the phone and call us to reserve a table before we sell out,” continues Gregg.

The Byron Kosuge wine dinner costs $110 per person ($60 for food and approximately $50 for wine) plus taxes and gratuity and will feature:

First Course

• Arctic char with ikura, watercress
• Paired with the 2012 Kosuge Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Second Course

• Charred lobster, caraway, mulling spice, Hubbard
• Paired with the 2012 Kosuge Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

Third Course

• Quail, pine needle, black truffle
• Paired with 2012 Kosuge “Hirsch Vineyard” Pinot Noir

Fourth Course

• Mosefund pork collar, pecan, collard jus
• Paired with 2012 Kosuge “The Shop” Pinot Noir

Fifth Course

• Melick apples, butterscotch, sable

Famed winemaker Byron Kosuge of B. Kosuge Wines will join Sharon Sevrens, proprietor of Amanti Vino of Montclair, who is supplying the wines for the dinner. Wines must be paid to Amanti Vino prior the event.
