Essex County Dogs Wanted For ‘Strut Your Mutt’ Halloween Contest

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Does your pooch have what it takes to be crowned top dog at this year’s “Strut Your Mutt” Halloween costume contest in Essex County?

The free, annual contest returns this year in Essex County at four separate parade events (see list below). The locations include the recently opened, landmark dog park at Branch Brook Park.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in a variety of categories. For more information, call 973-268-3500.

“The Essex County Dog Parks have become popular places for dog owners to bring their faithful companions,” County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. said. “In turn, the canine costume parades are growing into a favorite Halloween celebration for everyone to enjoy. Whether you own a dog or not, we invite you to come see creative costumes worn by dogs of all breeds.”

• Essex County Hilltop Dog Park, Courter Lane, North Caldwell, NJ

• Saturday, October 26, 2019
• Rain Date: Sunday, October 27, 2019
• Registration: 9:15 a.m., Parade: 10 a.m.
• Essex County Brookdale Dog Park, Grove Street, Montclair, NJ
