Essex County’s David Njoku Chosen In 1st Round Of NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns selected former Essex County football star and University of Miami tight end David Njoku.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The Cleveland Browns selected former Essex County football star and University of Miami tight end David Njoku in the opening round of the 2017 NFL draft, reports say.

Njoku was the No. 29 overall pick in the 2017 draft. During his high school career at Cedar Grove High School, he had 76 receptions for 1,794 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Njoku (pronounced nJOE-koo), was also a national boys high jump champion, and has the “playmaking potential and elite traits” to possibly make him a future Pro Bowler, according to NFL.com.
