MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair restaurant that features gluten-free and vegan cuisine is making a big change to its business model, its owner announced Thursday.

As of Saturday, Sept. 28, Plum on Park will no longer be offering weekly dinner service. Instead, the restaurant will be hosting a reservation-only, bimonthly dinner club on select Friday and Saturday evenings.

The first official “Plum Supper Club” events will be held Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12. Learn more about this local business.

Owner and head chef Natalie Lee said she decided to make the switch after nine years of operating in Montclair because it’s more aligned with her original vision of creating a small, intimate dining experience.

Without the demand to cater to large crowds of hungry diners, Lee will now get the chance to create specialty menus on a one-time basis.

“When I first opened the restaurant, I was only open for breakfast and lunch,” Lee recalled. “Dinner was exclusively Supper Club and private parties. I wanted dinner at Plum to feel like an extension of my home as if my customers were having dinner at my very own dining room table… friends and families gathering around to have great food and great conversation.”

“I never wanted to have a large fixed menu,” Lee added. “I want to provide local and seasonal meals that feel like home.”

Customers who desire to attend one of the Plum Dinner Club can email Lee at natalie@plumonpark.com to make a reservation.
