Family Of Retired Glen Ridge Cop: ‘Tell A Good Joke’ In His Name
Joseph Telesco, a retired Glen Ridge police officer who served the township for decades, has passed away.

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — A retired Glen Ridge police officer who served the township for decades has passed away. But when you remember Joseph Telesco, 71, it should be with joy, according to his family members, who are asking those who knew him to “say a prayer in his name, share a fond memory and tell a good joke.”
On Wednesday, the Glen Ridge Police Department shared the news of Telesco’s passing, which took place on Jan. 25.
According to his obituary in The Fountain Hills Times, Telesco, a Newark native who relocated to Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away after a valiant battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, acquired from Agent Orange exposure during his tour in the Vietnam War.

Telesco had a “kind heart, fun loving spirit and infectious sense of humor,” his obituary states.
“Officer Telesco served the Glen Ridge Police Department from 1974-1999, working both in the Detective Bureau and Patrol Division,” the GRPD wrote. “We honor him for his service to the department and send our regards to his family.”
