Fishing Derby Deemed Huge Success!!!
Montclair PAL is great organization always looking for volunteers.
The Montclair Police Athletic League (PAL) and Policemen's Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 53 were happy to provide over 40 children and their families the thrill of feeling the "tap-tap-tap" on a fishing line as well as experience the outdoors together at Saturday's fishing derby. Every catch brought excitement, no matter how big or small it was.
In keeping with the Montclair Police Athletic League's mission, which is to promote trust, understanding, and respect between youth and the police officers, many police officers were present assisting and sharing in the joy and excitement of the Montclair community's youth.
Trophies, provided by Little Falls Trophy & Engraving, Inc., were awarded to the 1st fish caught by a girl and a boy; biggest fish caught by a girl and a boy; and one for the youth that caught the most fish of the day. Several T-shirts, police beanie bears, and gift certificates were also given out from Applegates, Coldstone of Montclair, and Nauna's Bella Casa.
