Frank Lloyd Wright Home In Essex County Sells For $1M (VIDEO TOUR)

The weirdly wonderful, hexagonal Stuart Richardson House in Glen Ridge sold for just under a million dollars, reports say.

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — A Frank Lloyd Wright home in Essex County - the weirdly wonderful, hexagonal Stuart Richardson House – recently sold for just under a million dollars, according to reports.

The three-bedroom, single-family home at 63 Chestnut Hill Place in Glen Ridge – built in 1951 - sold for $999,999 on Dec 15, according to a Trulia listing.

Ironically, Wright reportedly created the ''usonian'' house to be a functional home for people of average means.

The property’s new owners told NJ.com that they were excited about continuing the stewardship that the previous owners had for the historic property, who won the 2010 Wright Spirit Award from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for outstanding stewardship of a private building.

There are two other remaining Frank Lloyd Wright houses in New Jersey, the James Christie House in Bernardsville and the J.A. Sweeton House in Cherry Hill, according to NJ.com.
