Giant Christmas Elf Spotted On Montclair Rooftop

The Saxum Elf was seen perching on a rooftop in Montclair. Where will he pop up next?

MONTCLAIR, NJ — On Friday, he sat atop a ledge on Bloomfield Avenue, patiently watching Christmas decorations pop up throughout Montclair. But soon, the Saxum Elf will be on the move again, embarking on a holiday tour of New Jersey to ring in the 2019 holidays.

The 12-foot Christmas decoration is the mascot of Saxum Real Estate, the owners of 475 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, where it made an appearance on Dec. 13.

Last year, the Saxum Elf visited four of the company’s buildings, including 475 Bloomfield Avenue, a former Chase Bank location that is being turned into a multi-tenant, mixed-use space.

“We wanted to provide a bit of holiday magic to the town as a token of our appreciation for welcoming us,” said Anthony Rinaldi, Saxum’s managing principal. “We plan to take the elf on a journey through Saxum’s portfolio. Stay tuned for where he’ll land next!”
