JLMN Decorated Covenant House Nancy’s Place for Holiday Season
Junior League of Montclair-Newark league's Active & Sustaining members came together to decorate Covenant House Nancy's Place

For many homeless youth, mental illness poses an obstacle to their independence. To address this issue Nancy’s Place was opened in Montclair for youth to address their mental health in a safe and supportive environment where they can learn the skills they need to live on their own. Knowing The needs of the homeless and that the holidays for the homeless sparks memories that bring up feelings of conflict and more during these times, The Junior League of Montclair-Newark Inc wanted to help. It was during this past holiday season that the league’s Active and Sustaining members came together to make their spirits bright by helping to decorate Covenant House Nancy’s Place for the holidays.

As the holiday season progressed, JLMN members generously donated some much-needed supplies to several Covenant House of NJ facilities over the holidays. Kitchenware, cleaning supplies and clothing were among some of the items purchased for the youth. The Young people at Nancy’s Place received gift cards for the holidays.
