Job Posting: Assistant Township Planner

Responsibilities Include:

• Performing a variety of tasks in support of the administration of the Township’s land development policies.
• Providing primary staff services to the Historic Preservation Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and assistant staff services to the Planning Board.
• Conducting development plan reviews, project management and zoning ordinance preparation.
• Preparing narrative staff reports and compiles information on a variety of planning issues, including the preparation of maps, charts and tables
• Enforcing historic preservation regulations, including establishing a routine inspection schedule and follow-up procedures for handling violations.

Requirements include:

• Must possess a Master’s degree in urban planning or related field with relevant work experience, a Bachelor’s degree with four years of professional experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree requirement
• Historic preservation experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to prioritize and must be able to review plans and apply provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with such regulations and to apply regulations to field conditions

Salary Range: $80,214 to $96,478 DOQ, plus full benefits.
