Meet A Dog Who Can Solve Math Problems: Montclair Kids Event

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Obi loves reading with children, working on his manners and solving math problems. Oh… and he’s a golden retriever.

On Monday, July 30, the Montclair Public Library’s Bellevue Avenue Branch at 185 Bellevue Avenue will host a family-friendly children’s event featuring Obi the golden retriever from 3 to 4 p.m.

Here’s how the MPL describes the event, which is open to ages 5 and up:

“Obi the golden retriever loves reading with kids and can solve math problems and bark out the correct answer. We’ll discuss dog etiquette, the various kinds of service dogs, the different settings for pet therapy, and what makes Obi good for pet-therapy. Obi will also show of some of his skills (like “talking,” “smiling,” and “shaking hands!)”

Registration is required. Online registration is available for valid Montclair Public Library card holders. All others should call the Youth Services Department to be added to the waiting list. Learn more about how to register and general event info here.
