Montclair 2019 Holiday Events: Santa Visit, Tree Lighting

Learn about Montclair's annual tree lighting event and Santa visit. Old Saint Nick will also be accepting letters from local children.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair will host its annual tree lighting event on Friday, Dec. 6.

According to a town news release, the family-friendly event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Church Street Plaza.

“Experience a ‘snowy’ winter festival with caroling by The Fabulous Fezzy Wigs, ice carvings, a giant snow globe, holiday music by the Montclair Community Band. Roast s’mores over fire pits, enjoy hot cocoa, kids’ activities and more. Plus, there will be a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!”

SANTA VISITING BUSINESS DISTRICTS

On Saturday, Dec. 7, Santa will visit the business districts of Montclair, riding on a fire department truck.

His schedule includes:

  • 11 a.m. – St. James Church (Bellevue Avenue and Valley Road)
  • 11:30 a.m. – Watchung Plaza
  • Noon – Walnut Street Plaza
  • 12:30 p.m. – South End Business District (Orange Road & Cedar Avenue)

LETTERS TO SANTA

Montclair children can send letters to Santa Claus via the below address. No letters will be accepted after Thursday, Dec. 19.
