Montclair Chef Prepares and Donates 500 Thanksgiving Meals

Pig & Prince Chef/Partner prepared complete, traditional Thanksgiving meals to aid the Salvation Army and the local hungry.

This past Thanksgiving day, Mike Carrino, chef/partner of Pig & Prince Restaurant & Gastrolounge, prepared and donated approximately 500 traditional Thanksgiving Day meals the Montclair Salvation Army for their community dinner. Members of the Salvation Army offered their gratitude as they picked up the food on Thanksgiving morning.

Carrino along with Members of the Pig & Prince Restaurant & Gastrolounge culinary team and Major Kevin Stoops from the Montclair Salvation Army all played a role in making sure the meals were cooked and delivered in a tasty and timely fashion.

“We are happy to support the Salvation Army this Thanksgiving season for the eighth year in a row,” said Carrino. “We have had the good fortune of being supported by the great people of Montclair and we wanted to show our thanks by helping those within the community who are struggling this holiday season. It’s a tradition we started at Restaurant Passionné and continued with the opening of Pig & Prince in 2012. We are very excited that we reached our goal of approximately 500 meals as the Salvation Army fed as many as 1,100 people on Thanksgiving. Our efforts covered almost a half of those meals.”
