Montclair Firefighters Respond To 2 Fires In Glen Ridge
Glen Ridge PD: A space heater malfunctioned and set bedding ablaze. A transformer exploded and caused a brush fire.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Montclair firefighters recently responded to a pair of fires in Glen Ridge, authorities reported.
According to the Glen Ridge Police Department, the following incidents took place in the township:
March 16 (2 a.m.) – “An officer responded to Adams Street for a smoke detector alarm. Upon arrival, he met with the homeowner, who reported a malfunction with a space heater which caused bedding to catch fire. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire. The Montclair Fire Department responded and assisted the homeowner with venting the house. There were no injuries.”

March 28 – “Officer Andrew Waring and the Montclair Fire Department responded to the Benson Street rail line for a transformer which exploded causing a brush fire. The Montclair Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire.”
