Montclair To Hold Town Budget Hearing On Tuesday

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Town Council will hold a public hearing on the 2021 municipal budget on Tuesday, May 4 at 7 p.m.

If approved, Montclair’s $93.79 million town budget would mean a 2.48 percent increase to the municipal portion of a local property owner's taxes, officials announced in April.

A town's municipal budget makes up one part of a local homeowner's property taxes, in addition to school and county levies.

The May 4 meeting will be broadcast live on Channel 34 and streamed live on the MontclairTV34 YouTube channel.

According to the meeting agenda:

“In an effort to minimize exposure to COVID-19 and to maintain social distancing practices, this May 4, 2021 Township Council meeting, and further meetings until the pandemic is over, will only be available to the public remotely.
