Montclair Kimberly Academy Lauds Students, Graduates
Several Montclair residents received awards.

Several Montclair residents were among those students honored at Cum Laude and Awards ceremonies held at Montclair Kimberley Academy recently.
Will Cerf, Danielle Charpentier, Sarah Finn, Emma Montoya, Nicholas
Pai, Julia Perlmutter, Emma Randall and Jeffrey Smith were among the
21 MKA seniors who were inducted into the Cum Laude Society.
The Cum Laude Society, established in 1906, is modeled on the Phi Beta Kappa Collegiate National Honor Society and recognizes the scholastic achievement of secondary school students. It is the highest academic honor bestowed on members of the graduating class.
Among those students receiving senior awards were Allison Bond, who
was received a Klein Award for Excellence in Academics and Athletics,
Tessa Calandra, who received a Fine & Performing Arts Award for the
Visual Arts, Danielle Charpentier, who received a Fine & Performing
Arts Award for Dance, William Dudek, who received a Fine & Performing
Arts Award for the Musical Arts (Vocal), Kira Farris, who received a
Head’s Award, Sarah Finn, who received The Marilyn Faden Award for
Excellence in Drama, Jonathan Kingsley, who received The Al Staph
Award, Dana Placentra, who received The Marilyn Faden Award for
Excellence in Musical Theatre, Anna Sheinaus who received the Foreign
Language Prize in Spanish, and Jeffrey Smith who received the History
Prize.
Montclair seniors who were named Mary K. Waring Scholars for receiving
all A’s and A-‘s were Will Cerf, Julia Perlmutter and Jeffrey Smith.
Among those underclassmen receiving awards were juniors Carly Pickett
who received The John Rabke Memorial Award and a Bronze Award for
Community Service Hours, Madeline Colbert who received The McVicar
Prize, Ryan Fennelly who received the 11th Grade Klein Award and
Kassandra Fotiadis and Tanner Gill who were named 11th Grade Faculty
Scholars. In addition, Aaron Stagoff-Belfort received a Bronze Award
for Community Service Hours.
Sophomores who received awards were Benjamin Rapsas and Benjamin
Wallach who were named 10th Grade Faculty Scholars.
In addition, freshmen Olivia Vaughn and Erik Zeug received 9th Grade
Klein Awards, and Ana Lucia Espinosa Dice was named a 9th Grade
Faculty Scholar.
