Montclair Library Challenges Local Adults To Make Summer Reading Lists

MPL encourages residents to join the program and challenge themselves to read one book every week between June 23 and September 8.

From MPL: The Montclair Public Library (MPL) Summer Reading theme for adults this year is Build a Better Montclair, which promotes social responsibility and involvement in our community.

MPL encourages residents to join the program and challenge themselves to read one book every week between June 23 and September 8. After completing a book, participants can submit a review to earn chances to win one of two iPad minis or one of many giftcards to Watchung Booksellers.
To submit reviews, adults may:

  • post a book review on the Summer Reading website
  • post a book review on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #MPLsummerreading
  • tag a photo of themselves reading, the book cover, or anything that reminds them of the book they completed, with the hashtag #MPLsummerreading on Instagram

Only one written review and/or photo post per book can earn chances. To encourage readers to Build a Better Montclair, participants can earn a bonus chance for each hour of volunteer work done during the program for up to 10 volunteer hours. In addition, the library will highlight local organizations that are working to improve Montclair with weekly social media posts and videos.
