The Dec. 2 report includes incidents of a stolen vehicle, a burglary at the Geyer Family Y and multiple reports of graffiti.

Burglary

  • A Stonebridge Road resident reported an attempted burglary to their residence on Wednesday November 26. The victim said that someone had damaged the rear door lock, between Tuesday November 25 at 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday November 26 at 2:00 p.m.It does not appear that entry was gained to the residence.   • A cash register was stolen in a break in and robbery at Caribbean Grill Restaurant. Officers responded to the location on Tuesday December 2 and were told that someone had entered the restaurant between 9:00 p.m. on Monday December 1 and 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday December 2. Actors entered the restaurant by breaking a small glass panel adjacent to the restaurant’s front door. The stolen register contained $200. Miscellaneous

  • A Locust Street resident reported an incident of vandalism on Monday November 24. They said that between 9:00 p.m. on Sunday November 23 and 1:00 p.m. on November 24, someone had placed graffiti on a light pole. The graffiti was drawn with a blue marker. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.
  • Montclair Police Department and Montclair Fire Department responded to Windermere Road on a report of a residential fire on Friday November 28 at 11:03 p.m. All residents were out of the structure prior to arrival of emergency services. The fire caused damage to the master bathroom. MFD is investigating the cause of this fire.
  • An officer on patrol observed fresh graffiti on a signpost in the Mountain Heights Train station on Monday December 1. This graffiti was drawn in yellow marker. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.

Theft

  • Officers were dispatched to Sutherland Road on a motor vehicle theft in progress. The car in question, a Black Lexus SC430, was last seen heading south on Harrison Avenue. The car had been left running in the driveway prior to its theft. The incident occurred on Wednesday November 26 at 8:50 a.m. Anyone with information please contact the Detective Bureau at 973- 509-4758.
  • A Montclair resident reported that someone had entered their vehicle and stolen items. The vehicle, on Saturday November 29. An Acura RDX, was parked in the TD Bank parking lot, located at 233 Bloomfield Avenue, at the time of the theft. Personal documents were stolen in this incident, which occurred between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Juvenile Aid Bureau at 973-509-4751.

Arrests

Officers were dispatched to the YMCA Family Center located at 159 Glenridge Ave. on a report of multiple thefts. On Monday December 1, numerous complainants stated that between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. someone removed personal items from their lockers. Further investigation by the officers led to the following individuals being identified, arrested, and charged with the following:

  • David Langley: Conspiracy
  • Cherylneshia Ann: Burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and fraudulent use of credit cards
  • Shade Williams: Burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and fraudulent use of credit cards.

A $50,000 bail was placed on all three individuals.
