Montclair police make arrests on open warrants, armed robbery

Arrest:

Justin Davis, 19, of Montclair, was arrested Jan. 29 on Pine Street on an open warrant out of South Orange for $500.

Franklin Maytidu, 43, of Montclair, was arrested Feb. 1 on Bloomfield Avenue at Valley Road on an open warrant from Montclair for $469.

Armed Robbery:

A 19-year-old Montclair man was the victim of an armed robbery on Forrest Street on Jan. 30, when a suspect armed with a handgun, demanded cash, but did not receive any. After an investigation, a 17-year-old male from Montclair was arrested and charged with robbery and weapons offenses. No weapon was recovered and no injuries were reported.

Miscellaneous:

A rock was thrown through the window of a vacant home on Glenridge Avenue on Jan. 28.

Burglary:

Fifteen articles of clothing were stolen from an apartment building storage locker on Gates Avenue on Jan. 31.

Theft:

Police are looking for a suspect in a shoplifting incident Feb. 2 at a CVS on 514 Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, medium build and wearing a New York Yankees hat. The suspect fled the scene in a red GMC sports utility vehicle.

A 2002 tan Honda Odyssey that was left running was stolen from the driveway of a residence at Elmwood Avenue on Feb. 3.
