Montclair Police To Hold DWI Checkpoints Over Holidays

Montclair police will hold DWI checkpoints in the township this holiday season, including one on Thursday.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Police Department (MPD) will be conducting DWI checkpoints in the township this holiday season, including one scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12, officials say.

According to a municipal news release:

“The MPD conducts DWI checkpoints in an effort to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities that occur each year in New Jersey as a result of drunk driving. These enforcement efforts are part of the department's Traffic Bureau initiatives to improve traffic safety in Montclair. The MPD also participates in the drunk driving enforcement campaign known as ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.’ During this statewide campaign, the department receives extra grant funding from the Division of Highway Traffic Safety to conduct extra enforcement details to combat drunk driving and make Montclair roads safer for all users.”

Any questions can be directed to the Traffic Bureau Commander, Lt. Stephanie Egnezzo at 973-509-4718.
