The Montclair Men's Rugby Football Club finished its Division 2 fall league season with a flourish by knocking off Morris 35-14. The Norseman won their final four games and ended the season with a 5-3 record. Saturday’s home victory at Brookdale Park was sparked by a strong team-wide defensive effort that forced 24 turnovers by Morris. The first Montclair try of the game came when Peter Driscoll broke through the Morris defense and off-loaded to Allen Ploenes for the score. Harold Vazquez continued his fantastic kicking form on the season by adding the conversion and then a pair of penalty kicks. A last minute Morris try left the score 13-7 at halftime.

Another Vazquez penalty kick and a Dylan Burke converted try widened Montclair’s lead. Peter Driscoll ended any hopes of a Morris comeback by scoring from in-close after several phases of play. Morris battled to the end adding a late try, but Montclair the game with a 35-14 victory over its long-time rivals.
