Montclair School District Has Late Start Schedule
But all school districts have 186 school days.

Due to the timing of the Jewish high holy days — as well as teacher workshops — Montclair schools won't start until September 13 this year.
Other school districts, though, such as the South Orange-Maplewood School District, will start on September 7, the day after Labor Day. South Orange-Maplewood students will attend school on September 7 and 8 and then take off on September 9 and 10 for Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on September 8.
