In Montclair: Screenings Of 2 ‘Black Culture Classics’ In June
The Montclair African-American Heritage Foundation and BDP Holdings are teaming up to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday through film.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair African-American Heritage Foundation (MAAHF) and BDP Holdings are teaming up to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday through film.
Organizers said they will screen two “Black culture classics” from famed screenwriter and Montclair resident, Richard Wesley. Learn more about these local events here.

“First up, on Saturday, June 12 is 1974’s ‘Uptown Saturday Night’ (rain date Sunday, June 13) followed by the 1975 sequel, ‘Let‘s Do It Again’ on Saturday, June 19 and will feature a Q&A with Mr. Wesley at 7:30 p.m. Both screenings will take place in the Lackawanna Plaza parking lot near TD Bank located at 233 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Entry into the event begins at 7 p.m. and showtime begins at sundown. As there will be no cars allowed in the parking lot and no seating available on-site, ATTENDEES MUST BRING THEIR OWN CHAIRS. Convenient parking will be available at the Seymour Street deck or Bay Street parking lot. Although this is a free event, registration is encouraged.
