Tropical Storm Isaias hit hard for thousands of Montclair residents.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Tropical Storm Isaias hit hard for thousands of Montclair residents, some of whom were still living without electricity several days after the storm.
Here's the situation as of Friday afternoon, according to a municipal advisory:
"Approximately 1,400 customers remain without power in Montclair, as of 3 p.m. today. PSE&G is currently working on the remaining large jobs impacting customers numbering in the hundreds and expects to restore power to those customers today. PSE&G is also working in the township on other jobs impacting customers in numbers between 100 and 10 and expects to restore their power by the end of today. Jobs impacting fewer than 10 customers and single houses will then be worked on and PSE&G expects to finish such jobs by Monday."
On Friday, Montclair township officials announced plans to set up an aid station for local residents who need to charge their devices or get some free ice.
