Montclair Woman Has To Repay Almost $11K In Unemployment: Report
A grandmother of three from Montclair is in a Catch 22-type pickle with unemployment agencies in New Jersey and New York, a report says.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — When the coronavirus hit New Jersey, it created financial chaos for hundreds of thousands of residents, who would soon encounter a nightmarish wait for unemployment benefits.
Now, after temporarily giving up on the Garden State and applying for benefits in New York, a Montclair woman claims she’s on the hook for almost $11,000, a report says.
Meg Patrick, a 61-year-old grandmother of three, told NJ.com that she’s in a Catch 22-type pickle with unemployment agencies in both states. And although she’s been told the situation should be straightened out this week, the experience has left the Montclair resident shaking her head in disbelief.
