MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair won't host its annual Memorial Day observance in Edgemont Memorial Park this year due to the coronavirus. But you can watch a tribute at home.
Montclair town officials released the following statement about this year’s event:
“Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day. For the safety of our residents during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the township will not host an annual Memorial Day observance in Edgemont Memorial Park. Instead, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Director Michele Cammarata and TV34 Station Manager Rick Gearhart have prepared a video broadcast honoring our military who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Mayor Robert Jackson provides commentary. Watch the 2020 Memorial Day Tribute on the Montclair TV34 YouTube channel. A reminder to residents that all township services are suspended on the May 25 Memorial Day holiday.”
