Music Will Flow At Benefit Concert For Montclair Coffeehouse
Trend Coffee and Tea House in Montclair has kept the music – and java – flowing during the coronavirus pandemic.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — It hasn’t been an easy job to keep Trend Coffee and Tea House in Montclair running during the coronavirus pandemic. But the coffeehouse and live music venue is still serving up arts and culture with each cup of java.
Music lovers and community members will come together for a free outdoor concert to spotlight the plight of live music venues in the town on Saturday, June 5. The event – which is also being held to raise funds for Trend – will take place from 2 to 6:30 p.m., and will include performances from nine bands.

According to event organizers:
“Montclair arts are the heart and soul of the town, and venues that host live music have been hit hard this past year. One such beloved venue, Trend Coffee and Tea House, has been especially affected because the large rear parking lot has been completely blocked off, ripped up, and is under construction.”

“Trend Coffee and Tea House is a European-style coffee house with two bay windows facing the street to sit in, overstuffed chairs and couches, art created by local artists on the walls, and a music performance area. Trend offers live music and other arts and cultural performances several times a week free of charge. The proprietors, Dimity and his wife, Saska are always warm and welcoming, and their two small children can be seen playing and running about occasionally.”
Organizers said the outdoor concert event will feature nine live bands over four hours. All involved are donating their time and talents.
The coffeehouse has also launched an online fundraiser to help with rent and business expenses. See it here.
