New At The Turtle Back Zoo: Animals Join Twittering Masses
Now even the animals are on Twitter at the popular West Orange zoo.
Just can't get enough of the animals at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo? Then be sure to follow @TurtleBackZoo on Twitter! For the month of September, the Zoo's residents will take on the tweeting. These tech-savvy critters will share fun facts, links and more — and will be happy to respond to tweets as they come in.
For those new to Twitter, it's easy to get started. Just go to www.twitter.com and start a free account. Then "follow" @TurtleBackZoo (www.twitter.com/turtlebackzoo) and you will start receiving the Zoo's tweets in your feed.Â
"Visitors are used to hearing tweets from the budgies in our interactive aviary, and now they will be able to enjoy tweets of a different kind from our non feathered animals too," said Dr. Jeremy Goodman, the zoo's director.
Certainly the animals will have plenty to tweet about as it's been a busy couple of months at the popular West Orange zoo. Just last week, a state-of-the art aquarium was donated to the zoo, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony coming up on September 15. And what about the two new African penguins recently named Cookies and Cream? How are they faring? Enquiring minds want to know!
