New Superintendent To Be Named, Jazz Festival

You'd think that, in the midst of August, it might be fairly quiet around Montclair. But in this town there's always something going on!
1) After weeks of suspense, the Monday night at 7:30 p.m. to name a new schools superintendent to replace Dr. Frank Alvarez.Â

2) The Montclair Health Department is making farmers’ market vouchers available for senior citizens who qualify. The vouchers may be used at certain farmers markets in Essex County. To qualify, a senior must be 60 years and older and meet income requirements. Documents required are current income tax return, social security award letter, Food Stamp/SNAP verification or Medicaid card. Proof of residency can be in the form of a driver’s license or utility bill.
3) The Montclair Planning Board will meet Monday night. The board reviews and acts on site plan and subdivision applications. It's also responsible for the review of the master plan.

5)Â Join Jazz House Kids for a day of swinging music at the third annual Montclair Jazz Festival in Nishuane Park on Saturday from noon to 7:00 p.m.
