Newark Airport to Begin Ebola Screenings for Incoming Passengers

Screenings will include a questionnaire and temperature check starting as early as next week.

Less than a week after authorities removed a passenger from a plane at Newark Liberty Airport due to an Ebola scare, the airport is primed to become one of a handful of airports screening its incoming passengers for the disease.

Federal officials said Wednesday that passengers arriving from places from the West African nations of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea will receive a questionnaire and have their temperature taken.

Newark Airport is also among 20 locations established as a quarantine station to combat the epidemic and identify potential infected persons before they leave the airport.
