Burglary String Suspect In Essex, Passaic, Morris Counties Charged With Theft In Montclair
Jason Freeman was apprehended by Montclair and Irvington Police for a burglary on Inwood Avenue.

A Newark man who was a burglary suspect in three North Jersey counties faces theft, criminal mischief and other charges connected to a Montclair burglary on Tuesday, police said.
After arresting Jason Freeman, 32, police recovered jewelry presumably stolen during the Montclair burglary on Inwood Avenue. He was also charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. His bail was set at $22,500, police said.
At 1:26 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the Inwood Avenue burglary location where witnesses allegedly had observed Freeman fleeing the driveway of the residence in a white Honda Accord. This same vehicle had been reported stolen in Parsippany, police said.

The next day, Irvington Police located Freeman operating the stolen vehicle. He was subsequently arrested on the open Montclair warrants and also charged with receiving stolen property in Irvington, police said.
Freeman is similarly a suspect in multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts in Essex, Passaic, and Morris counties, police said.

The Montclair Police Department released a statement congratulating the officers and detectives on their “swift identification and apprehension” of the suspect.
