Non-Profit Hosting Celebration for Crime Victims Bill of Rights Amendment
Unchained At Last, which helps women escape forced or arranged marriages, will host an event for the victory Oct. 19.

Unchained At Last, a non-profit that helps women escape from forced or arranged marriages, championed some major changes to New Jersey’s Crime Victims Bill of Rights with the passage of amendments that allow victims to access their records free of charge and file restraining orders without it becoming a matter of public record.
As a result, the non-profit, which offers pro bono legal aid and job training services among others, is hosting a celebration of the victory in Montclair from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
The event will recognize Loretta Weinberg, the New Jersey Senate Majority Leader, for spearheading the bill and feature prominent feminist speaker Amy Richards, a press agent for Gloria Steinem.
