Parents Who Rock To Host Backyard Family Event

The event is seeking musicians to play three-song sets.

 

Calling all music lovers and fun seekers! Parents Who Rock will be hosting its 6th Annual Backyard Event on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 8.

The event is also seeking musicians. Bands and performers will be able to do three-song sets between noon and 6 p.m.

"It's a great opportunity for Parents Who Rock veterans and newcomers who want to be heard," said Parents Who Rock founder Alma Schneider.

For those who just want to enjoy an afternoon of music, Parents Who Rock will provide the venue, sound, audience and performers—you just have to provide your own picnic, chairs, and blanket.

Non-musical activities will be planned for the whole family, including kids' yoga and face painting by Aunt Jean's Toys and Treats. There's no cover, but donations are welcome. All money raised will got to Montclair MESH to benefit those in need of food assistance.

"You can hear an interesting and entertaining variety of genres—jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.," Schneider said.

What You Need To Know:

Saturday, September 8. Rain date is Saturday, September 15. Noon to 6 p.m.

Corner of Cedar and High streets in Montclair.

No cover charge but donations accepted for the MESH Program.

Bring your own blanket, chair, and picnic, and enjoy an afternoon of some great music.
